Story
nefsy, the dine-in app with a heart, which launched in September 2019, has started a nationwide initiative to support the Fund of the United Arab Emirates, Homeland of Humanity, under the Emirates Red Crescent. The app will be supporting those in need during the Covid-19 pandemic via a collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) – license number 2984 and the Dubai Government.
For a donation of just 12 AED, two people affected by the global pandemic both nationally and internationally will receive a much-needed meal. The initiative also gives the option to buy a 30-day package for the same price. All users need to do, is download the nefsy app and sign up for free, to donate.
Founder of nefsy, Khaled Diab, comments: “nefsy’s mission is to help everyone who chooses to dine-in, feed another person at no extra cost so we can end hunger worldwide. The Coronavirus pandemic has dealt a devastating blow to the global economy. With lengthy enforced shutdowns everywhere, many people have lost their jobs and are facing extreme difficulties.
“That’s why the nefsy platform has introduced a new way of helping back and we are encouraging as many people as possible to get involved to feed one person here in the UAE nationally and one internationally. It’s time to extend compassion to friends, neighbours and communities to help them through this crisis.”
Nefsy was designed to help beat world hunger, one click at a time – and the app allows residents in the UAE to browse through top UAE restaurants and cafés, select a meal of their choice and then enjoy their dining experience complete with the knowledge of knowing that with every purchase, a meal is donated.
