Imagine this. It’s Jumuah time.
In Australia, mosques are not common, let alone in the Central Business District for Melbourne. For Muslims that work in the city, it's usually a rush to get to one of the few Musallahs for Jumuah salah. If you're late, you pray outside on the street and you are not even able to hear the Khutbah.
In 2011, we opened the Melbourne Madinah Alhamdulillah. A community centre in the heart of the city that would serve as a place for prayer, education, dawah and various Islamic Projects.
Fast forward 9 years, the Madinah has served thousands of Muslims to fulfil their prayers, break their fasts during Ramadan, organise weddings, lectures, weekend Islamic education class for kids and more, Alhamdulillah.
COVID-19
While it is a sad time that we've had to shut the Madinah down during this COVID19 pandemic, we want to utilise this opportunity complete minor renovations to the Madinah that we've been unable to do in the past. What we want to do
Progress
The photos below show the progress of the work. We are looking to raise 35,000 AUD (80,000 AED) to complete the works to make the Madinah an iconic Islamic community center in the heart of Melbourne.
